Pico: minimalist but powerful small desktop or wall-mounted kiosks

The Pico wall and desk mount small footprint kiosks offer a range of funky and stylish alternatives to small screen sized, boring tablets. The Pico needs no stand to mount it either.  Designed to be the stylish replacement for boring check-in kiosks or standard industrial or consumer tablets. The Pico range is driven by our Mini-ION very small computer range and most peripherals can be connected to it – unlike tablets.  The Pico range is also built for longevity and uses industrial grade components and will survive heavy use in busy environments. At a little more than the price of a top end tablet, the Pico represents serious value and the ability to fit it and forget it service wise. We hear this is not the case with most tablets deployed in busy environments.

The Pico range is three kiosks – 12”, 15” and 17” 4:3 landscape screens. The style is the same in each case.  Each Pico size can be wall mounted, low angle desk mounted (on a low height reception desk say) or normal angle desk mounted – three ways to view the kiosk depending on the physical situation of the deployed kiosk. The Pico has discrete LED side lighting to draw attention to users. The screen front is complete glass and is brandable around the active touch area of the screen.

Simplicity of design and larger screen sizes will suit the growing mid to older generation of users  –   tablets are fiddly to see and operate and have a short life.

From a deployment perspective, the Pico has a key operated opening mechanism whereby the screen tips forward and the computer can be connected with, replaced or restarted if necessary. When finished the screen is tipped back and the key lock. So simple for deploying and looking after the kiosk.  Try that with a tablet! Powered by our Mini-Ion range of microcomputers the Pico can be a low cost thin-client right up to a kiosk that can handle serious computing and vibrant graphics.

PICO – the low cost of ownership check-in kiosk – with style and durability.

The Pico range was designed to be the long life, industrial grade small kiosk that competes with the tablet. Three sizes available – 12″, 15″ and 17″ screens. The Pico design is robust and uses components that will stand the test of time. Unlike tablets the Pico will be available in the same format for years, repeatable and serviceable. Crucially, the Pico can take optional add-ons just like the larger kiosks. Tablets struggle with adding Chip&pin, barcode scanners and RFID readers without complication. For the Pico, connecting peripherals is simplicity just like large kiosks. The price point for the Pico range is set with being competitive in mind for small multi usable kiosks.

For all kinds of checking-in, virtual reception and similar applications where a small reliable kiosk is needed that takes minimal space, one of the Pico range is stylish, competitive in price and with a low cost of overall ownership.  The Pico is also ideally suited to our Announce24 information software.
