Overview

The Dalata hotel group, comprising mostly of Maldron and Clayton hotels in Ireland and the UK, had decided to embrace self check-in for their hotel chain. Using the P3 booking and check-in software, Dalata quickly realised that the software need to be presented to their guests in the hotel reception area. The Dalata team came to K4B based on our other deployments within other hotel chains such as  TSH  and Zleep hotels.  We presented our FIGUR free standing kiosk, designed for hotel environments. The styling and ability to integrate all technology needed within it the Figur was the right kiosk to present in the Maldron and Clayton hotel chains. With 2/3 kiosks in each hotel the right balance of presence and check-in ability was created. In addition, the branding of each hotel chain is further enhanced by the programmable edge lighting surrounding the kiosks.

Key Objectives

Dalata wanted to get right into the forefront of new and useful technology, encouraging the younger generations as guests, demanding and using technology at a pace and to good advantage. It had to handle check-in, check-out, payment and room key programming within the one piece of kiosk technology. Consistency, reliability, and right technology from their supplier was a must for the Dalata team. The kiosks were customised to fit the Dalata technical requirements improve the check-in process with an interactive and aesthetically correct design.

A versatile system that is capable of handling check-in and check-out operations seamlessly.

Integrate essential peripherals, including a keycard encoding, PDQ and QR scanning.

The Figur Solution

At its core, the FigurHotel edition remains true to the pioneering spirit of the Figur model. It was the Figur that first introduced the concept of a widescreen in portrait mode to accommodate a soft keyboard, ensuring landscape screen content still to be in place with a soft keyboard underneath. (Much copied these days) -  Today, the portrtait screen style is not just well-accepted,  it’s hailed for its striking and contemporary but useful appeal.  Adding in the room key programmer, chip and pin payment device and QR scanner, gave the Maldron and Clayton hotels the customised Figur kiosk they needed. The Dalata senior team also loved the style and design and the VFM associated with the K4B customised Figur.

The Dalata project continuing....

After populating most of their hotel chain with the Figur-Hotel kiosks, the newer hotels needed a different style of kiosk to be smaller and counter-top in style, but with the same level of performance required.  Click here for how the Dalata project continued with the counter-top kiosk.
